On Saturday August 5 and Saturday August 12, Reddingsbrigade Noordwijk is organizing a mouse swimming course for children 10 years and older with a swimming certificate (B). Participation is free!
Come take a free mouse swimming class on one of the dates below. You'll learn all about ebb and flow, ocean currents, sandbars and waves, and most importantly, mui's. What is a mui and what do you do if you run into one?
Saturday, Aug. 5 from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.Saturday, Aug. 5 from 2 p.m.-15:30 p.m.
What is covered in the course:
- 45 minutes theory lesson
- 30 minutes practice
- In practice, participants & parents go into the sea under the guidance of lifeguards where sandbars are discovered, the mui is found and experienced, the current is felt and there is some great diving through the waves.
(Grand) parents and/or supervisors
Because adults often don't know everything about the dangers of the sea, the (grand)parents or companions of the participants are also welcome at the course.
Tip! Put on your swimwear ahead of time under your clothes.
