Youth beach training

The Young Rescuers

Every year, the Noordwijk Rescue Brigade organizes a youth training course on the beach for young people aged 12 to 15 under the name 'Jonge Redders'. Jonge Redders forms the bridge between the lifesavers in the pool and the lifeguards on the beach.

Young Rescuers is organized weekly at the beach on Tuesday evenings from 6:45 to 8:00 pm following the summer break of swimming lessons at the pool.

During the summer months, you will learn more about the coast, the dangers to bathers and swimmers, the tide, and beach supervision. You also learn how to rescue a drowning person from the sea, how to transport him and how to bring him to safety. And you walk along with the lifeguards at our rescue station during a 'beach day'.

But there is more: every year we organize a fun day halfway through the training. Then we stay on the beach until late and do all kinds of fun activities. It is a surprise, but bring your swimming trunks! The end of the course is always festive with a BBQ. Your parents are also welcome.

Target audience:
Members aged 12 through 15, divided into three groups:

  • 12-13 years 1 beach day
  • 13-14 years 2 beach days
  • 14-15 years 3 beach days
