Objective

The purpose of the association is to provide assistance to drowning persons, shipwrecked persons and victims of accidents, as well as to provide assistance in the event of calamities in Noordwijk and surrounding municipalities in so far as no other association with the same purpose is established there, all in the broadest sense of the word.

Vision 

In Noordwijk, you can enjoy a safe recreational time by the sea throughout the year. Inhabitants of Noordwijk, especially children, can swim in the swimming pool and in the sea. Through information and courses, they are aware of the dangers of the sea and know how to prepare themselves for a visit to the beach. 

Mission 

Preventing and controlling drowning by:

1. Training 

  • In the pool: elementary swimming and lifesaving classes;
  • On the strand: Lifeguard training (skipper, driver, post commander, and the like).

2.Information and education 

  • Informing about safety and potential risks of seaside recreation;
  • Preventive Surveillance;
  • Providing Muiz swimming courses for children and parents.

3. (Water) assistance.

  • beach surveillance, first aid, foundlings, missing persons, rescues, event supervision.

4. Disaster Management

  • Nationwide, with the safety regions and National Rescue Fleet.

The above board members do not receive any remuneration for the work done.

Report activities

Financial Accountability

De NRB verkrijgt inkomsten van de Gemeente Noordwijk in de vorm van subsidie voor strandtoezicht en -opleiding en gebruik zwembad. Verder is er een gemeentelijk investeringsfonds voor meerjarige investeringen in bijvoorbeeld vaartuigen, voertuigen en behuizing. Daarnaast ontvangt de NRB lidmaatschapsbijdragen, donaties, bijdragen van inwoners van Noordwijk uit de jaarlijkse collecte, bijdragen van sponsoren en vergoedingen voor beveiligingen van evenementen op en rond het strand. 

Het vermogen is vastgelegd in spaarrekeningen. In het Financieel verslag staat de balans en de staat van baten en lasten van het afgelopen boekjaar (2023): link (zie bijlage). In 2020 ontstond een nadelig resultaat. Dit had vooral te maken met omstandigheden rondom COVID. Er was o.a. sprake van een extra druk strandseizoen (flinke toename exploitatiekosten) en het uitblijven van inkomsten uit bijvoorbeeld beveiligingen van evenementen en de jaarlijkse collectie.
